I think one of the most important things for me to grow as a photographer, an artist and a person is to see the world. Through traveling , I get to see new places, meet to new people, try different types of food, see different types of art, collaborate with other artists, and much more. This trip was more spontaneous than most of our others so we decided to go to countries where english was the main language.
We started the trip by heading to Dublin, Ireland. All of my family is Irish so this was a place I really wanted to go. Like I mentioned previously, since we planned this late, we did things much differently. One of the main differences is that we stayed with locals of the areas through AirBnB. For those of you who don’t know what it is, I highly recommend checking it out. Basically you go to the site, pick a city, and find a place and people that fits your needs as a tourist. You can stay and book a place similarly to booking a hotel. Since we didn’t plan our trip out, we really relied on our hosts to give us some advice. Both sets of hosts explained where to go, how to get there and the secret secrets only a local would know. They even had personalized maps for us with detailed information about all of the spots they mentioned. What also helped greatly is one of my amazing friends Courtney moved to London that week for work. She was able to show us around as well. Check out the link to her awesome fashion work. We saw many places in theses cites but our favorites in Ireland were Temple Bar area, Cliffs of Moher, and Butlers Chocolate. For London, we really enjoyed the Covent Garden, the London Eye, Brixton Market and The Bedford. The Bedford was probably the most memorable because we saw some amazing up and coming artists. This is where Ed Sheeran got his start. All of the artists were talented beyond words.
Here are a few of my favorite images from the trip.
ps. I did get the opportunity to work with some wonderful dancers while in London. I will be posting those later this week. Stay tuned.
