I have had the pleasure of knowing Dana for quite some time now. I remember through all of our sessions, Dana has always been able to do anything I asked her to do. She is articulate, hardworking, talented and of course just a beautiful young girl. I am so happy to say that Dana is now a student with the School of American Ballet in New York City. Dana has spent the past couple of summers at SAB and was asked to stay and train year round. This is one of the greatest accomplishments a young dancer can achieve. Go Dana! Dana also will be studying with the Professional Children’s School in New York City for her academics.
Dana started training with Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh under the direction of Lindsay and Steven Piper since the school has opened. While at BAP, she has performed in several Balanchine Ballets.
The Pittsburgh Tire Yard is becoming one of my favorite places to shoot. I love how gritty it is, especially when shooting fashion and ballet. Something else I find interesting is how big the tires are compared to my subject. Dana is a tiny girl but with a big presence. She is able to fill the whole tire yard through her poise and presence.
Good luck at the School of American Ballet, Dana! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you. We are all very proud and you deserve it more than anyone!
I also have been doing a little experimenting with some video and took this clip with my new toy at Dana’s shoot. Shout to to Jado media for all the help. Check out the video clip here!
